Overview
The Technical Assistance Program for Aboriginal Not-for-Profits (TAP) has been created to support the capacity building efforts of B.C.'s Aboriginal not-for-profit organizations.
The program will do so by:
- Offering grants to individual Aboriginal not-for-profits to help them identify and address their organizational development challenges.
- Providing organizational development training opportunities for employees and volunteers of Aboriginal not-for-profits.
- Providing access to relevant and effective organizational development resources, particularly the learning and tools that emerge from the activities of TAP grantees.
It is anticipated that as a result of their participation in TAP, Aboriginal not-for-profits will benefit from stronger management and governance practices, be more effective in the delivery of their programs and services, and better position themselves for long-term organizational sustainability.
Funding for the delivery and management of TAP has been generously provided by the Province of BC - Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation and the Greater Vancouver Urban Aboriginal Strategy.
TAP Development: Research and Consultation
In late 2005 and early 2006, the Centre completed a research and community consultation process to inform development of a model for a proposed Technical Assistance Program for Aboriginal Not-for-Profits (TAP).
We are pleased to present the following reports resulting from this process:
